Setup and compatibility

SocialSwap includes a browser-based installer with a requirements checker, so you can upload the files, open the install URL and complete setup from the web — including the one-click updater for later releases. It runs on PHP 8.2+ (Laravel 11) with MySQL 5.7+, and Apache is recommended (Nginx can work, but server configuration and install support for Nginx is on you). You will need the usual PHP extensions — Mbstring, PDO, FileInfo, JSON, cURL and ZipArchive — plus symlink(), shell_exec() and file_get_contents() enabled on the host. Confirm those with your provider before you go live; most VPS and many shared hosts cover this stack out of the box.
